Contact Lens-Associated Diseases

Contact lenses are generally safe to wear and are used by millions of people, but contact lens wearers are at higher risk of developing such diseases as dry eye and keratoconus, among other ophthalmic conditions. If you have the following symptoms, get checked out by a doctor immediately:

Unusual redness
Painful eyes
Excess tearing or other discharge
Unusual sensitivity to light
Blurred vision
Sensation that a foreign body is in your eye
Gritty feeling

Your vision is too important to risk long-term damage.
